I hope you are well, and getting ready for the festive season.

Our fall ratings have just been released, and needless to say we are very happy to let you know that A Little Breath of Scotland had another great survey. As a matter of fact, the programme is the top rated show on AM740, and in it’s time slot has the second highest ratings of all Ontario radio stations. So thanks to you, our faithful listeners, we continue to be right at the top of the pack!

Once we get over Christmas and New Year, it’s Burns’ Supper time! 2009 sees the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns, so these dinners take on an extra special meaning.

I will be in Milton on January 17th for the annual Milton and District Pipes and Drums Burns dance, being held in the Thomson Road arena, Milton. This always sells out early, and tickets can be had from Stewart White, at 905-854-0411.

On January 22nd I will be in Kitchener for the Burns’ dinner and whisky tasting event hosted by the Kitchener/Waterloo chapter of the Companions of the Quaich. Details from Ed Korschewitz at 519-743-3501 ext 15 .

January 24th I will be in Fergus for the Fergus Scottish Festival Burns’ Supper at the Legion in Fergus. Details from Helen Noels, 519-843-3082.

I just hope the weather co-operates as I venture out into the highways and byways !

Respite comes at the end of January, when Denise and I are off with a great group of friends on our annual winter cruise escape to the Caribbean.

Talking about cruising,we still have some space on our summer 2009 cruise to Scandinavia and Russia, leaving on July 9th. You can get more information on this from our web site, www.denissnowdon.com and look under cruise info. Michelle Campbell at Vision 2000 cruises in Ancaster can also give you more detailed information by calling her toll free at 1-866-648-4483. Wouldn’t that be a nice Christmas or anniversary present?

Once again, thank you for making the show so successful with your faithful listening, and remember, if you are away, you can always keep in touch by listening to AM740 on the internet at www.AM740.ca.

Denise and I wish you and your family all the very best for Christmas, and that 2009 brings peace and good health.
