Radio Show Info and Updates
Greetings, and I hope you have had a great summer!! We certainly can’t complain about the weather this year.
Fergus was great again, this year, and we were very proud to be asked to be an honourary pipe major for the Prostate Cancer awareness week pipe band parade in Toronto in September. To make it doubly memorable, we had our own AM 740 pipes and drums take part, thanks to P/M Stewart White of the Milton and District Pipe Band, and pipers and drummers from Uxbridge Caledonia and Collingwood who joined our band for the day. We even had one piper, Jon Lilley join us all the way from Ohio!
Frankie Benson (Radio Erin) and I took park in the second annual Beach Celtic Festival in September at Kew Gardens in Toronto, and we had a great time, meeting many of our listeners, and enjoying great music from Sandy McIntyre and Steeped in Tradition and the 48th Highlanders pipe band, among others. Of course, Frankie entertained us all too, in his own inimitable fashion.
On October 23rd we will celebrate our 40th anniversary of “ A Little Breath of Scotland”!
Wow, I can hardly believe it, forty years, how the time flies. As I often say, one of these weeks I will get this show right!
On November 26th, Denise and I will be the guests of honour at the St. Andrews Ball, at The Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto. Tickets are $100, and more information can be obtained from Michael Noble at 416-449-8070.
On January 21st, I will be a guest with the very fine young tenor, Peter McCutcheon, at the Toronto Cricket Club for a Burns’ supper and concert. This event always sells out quickly, but you can get more information at www.petermccutcheon.com
On January 28th, we will again be at the Milton and District pipe band dance. It’s a great night out, with a very loyal following. Dancing as always to the pipe band, and the popular “ Fair Enuff”. Tickets from Stewart White at 905-854-0411, or any member of the pipe band.
Tour Updates
Our photo album has been updated to include the pipe band parade, as well as our summer 2005 Scotland tour.
Our February 2006 Panama Canal cruise sold out in no time, as a matter of fact we have a waiting list! Our faithful cruisers just can’t wait to get away for another winter break.
Over the years we have had lot’s of requests to lead a cruise group to Europe, so Denise and I will be off on September 23rd for a Mediterranean cruise on board the Grand Princess. We’d love to have you join us and the itinerary is wonderful. We will overnight in Barcelona, Spain, before embarking on a 12-night cruise, with great ports of call, the final one being Venice.

We had a great time with our association with Great Canadian Holidays this year, and are happy to let you know about three tours that I will be escorting for them next year.
The first is a seven-day Tour to Virginia Beach, leaving on April 27th, and one of the highlights will be an evening at the Virginia Tattoo. This is a great spring tour.

I will again be escorting the very popular Atlantic Canada Tour in June for Great Canadian; there are many highlights on this tour, including the Halifax International Tattoo.
In August, a great combination is being offered in our Shamrock and Thistle Tour. This 14-day tour covers the best of Ireland and Scotland, and is a great look at the Celtic heritage of both countries, and yes, we will be attending the Edinburgh Military Tattoo!
Specific details of the itineraries and dates for the Atlantic Canada and the Shamrock and Thistle tours will be available in the late fall.
As you can see, 2006 promises to be busy!
